Deacons Add Trio of Graduate Assistants to Football Staff

Jordan Reid, Kevin Snyder and Ben Thaw have been added to the Wake Forest football staff as graduate assistants.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest's football staff announced the addition of three graduate assistant positions to its 2021 staff on Monday. 

"Jordan Reid, Kevin Snyder and Ben Thaw all bring their unique backgrounds and a different perspective to our staff," head coach Dave Clawson said. "Graduate assistants have the opportunity to bring their past experiences to help influence our staff, learn our culture and work with our student-athletes. We are excited that these three men are Demon Deacons and members of the Wake Forest community."

Jordan Reid
Jordan Reid was promoted graduate assistant after spending the 2020 as an offensive quality control coach for the Deacs. He joined Wake Forest in 2020 after spending one year as an offensive graduate assistant at his alma mater, Ohio University, where he helped the Bobcats offense finish 29th in the country in total offense per game, averaging 442.2 yards per game.

Before starting his coaching career, Reid was a wide receiver for the Bobcats, finishing his career with 133 receptions, 1,667 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Kevin Snyder
Kevin Snyder comes to Wake Forest as a graduate assistant after spending a season as a player development assistant at his alma mater, Rutgers. 

A former Big Ten and Big East All-Academic team member, Snyder totaled 229 career tackles in his four years as a Scarlet Knight, making 25 starts at inside, weak-side and strong-side linebacker. Before getting into coaching, Snyder played in the NFL from 2015-2017, spending time on five different teams' practice squads, earning call-ups to the active roster of the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. 

Ben Thaw
Ben Thaw was promoted to graduate assistant after spending the fall of 2020 as a recruiting intern for the Deacs. He is a 2020 graduate of Wesleyan University, where he was captain of the football team as a defensive back. He tallied 40 total blocks, five interceptions, nine pass break-ups and two blocked kicks as a senior for the Cardinals.
