#ProDeacs: NBA Trade Deadline Update

Five former Wake Forest men's basketball players highlight former Deacs on NBA rosters after the 2021 NBA trade deadline.
Find out below where our #ProDeacs have ended up for the second half of the season.
Chris Paul | Phoenix Suns | 16th Season
In his 16th season, Chris Paul remains with the Phoenix Suns as they sit in second in the Western Conference. Paul is averaging 15.9 points and 8.7 assists per game in his 11th All-Star season, his highest assist average since the 2016-17 season. He also became the 6th player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career assists on March 21.
John Collins | Atlanta Hawks | 4th Season
John Collins is in his 4th season with the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 18.1 points and 7.8 rebounds in 30.6 minutes a game. He has started every game this season and is the second leading scorer and rebounder on the team. The Hawks are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Ish Smith | Washington Wizards | 11th Season
An 11th year veteran, Ish Smith remains on the Washington Wizards roster but has been out since Feb. 12 after suffering a quad injury.He has appeared in 19 games for the Wizards this season with one start.
James Johnson | New Orleans Pelicans | 12th Season
In 29 games with the Dallas Mavericks for the first half of the season, James Johnson averaged 5.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 17.4 minutes per game. On March 25 he was involved in a trade that sent him to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Al-Farouq Aminu | Chicago Bulls | 11th Season
After undergoing knee surgery in December 2020, Al-Farouq Aminu made his return to the court with the Magic Feb. 17 against the Knicks. After coming off the bench for less than 15 minutes in his first two contests back, Aminu entered the starting lineup for Orlando and played 18+ minutes every game. He recorded his first double-double of the season on March 23 against the Nuggets with 17 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes.
At the trade deadline, he found himself in a move to the Chicago Bulls. He is averaging 5.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in 21.6 minutes a game this season.
Jeff Teague | Free Agent | 12th Season
After 34 games with the Boston Celtics this season, Jeff Teague found himself in a trade that landed him in Orlando and is currently looking for his next opportunity. He was averaging 6.9 points and 2.1 assists in 18.1 minutes per game in Boston. After missing two games, he entered the starting lineup for the Celtics on March 22 and recorded a season-high 26 points in 39 minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies.
