Deacs Ready for Home Finale Against Boston College

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – For the last time at Spry, the Wake Forest women's soccer team will host Boston College on Thursday. Kickoff between the Demon Deacons and Eagles is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Spry Stadium.

FAN INFORMATION
Spry Stadium will host a limited number of student-athlete families and Wake Forest students inside Spry Stadium and on Walt Chyzowych Alumni Hill for Saturday's match. Parking is available in the public lots across the street from Walt Chyzowych Alumni Hill, and attendees will enter from the Polo Road spectator entrance.
Approved face coverings will be mandatory along with all other social distancing and safety requirements under Wake Forest, Forsyth County and State of North Carolina regulations as we uphold the Show Humanitate standard of our University.
WAKE FOREST STUDENTS
Wake Forest students will receive priority and free admission for the newly available attendance space through the Screamin' Demon Rewards and lottery programs that were introduced last fall. Students interested in attending soccer games in-person should enter the lottery through the Screamin' Demon Rewards app, beginning 48-hours prior to each game. Students will enter from the south gate main entrance to the stadium from campus.

LAST TIME OUT
- A slow start proved costly as Wake Forest fell to Georgia, 4-1, at Turner Soccer Complex. Shayla Smart tallied the only goal for the Demon Deacons which came in the second half.
- The Bulldogs scored three times in the first 45 minutes and one in the second half, including goals in the 12th, 22nd, 28th and 61st minute.
- After conceding 13 shots in the opening half, Wake Forest cut that to four in the second half, though one found the back of the net in the 61st minute.
- Smart earned the lone goal for the Deacs with an assist from Ryanne Brown in the 61st minute. Georgia quickly killed any spark given by the Wake Forest goal with their fourth goal after restart.
SERIES HISTORY
- Boston College has a record of 8-7-1 in the all-time series with Wake Forest. The Eagles have a mark of 2-7-0 on the road.
- These two teams first met on Oct. 2, 2005, with the Demon Deacons coming to Newton and pulling out a 2-1 win.
- Last season, the teams battled to a 3-3 tie in Newton, marking the first-ever tie game in the series.
- 12 of the 16 meetings in the series have been decided by one goal.
SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE
- Sam Smith leads Boston College in scoring with 10 points on a team-leading four goals and two assists.
- Jenna Bike has three goals and two assists for eight points.
- Freshman Laura Gouvin has two goals - both game-winners - and two assists for four points.
- Goalkeeper Allie Augur has started 11 of BC's 12 contests, going 3-8-0 with 1.79 goals against average, .710 save percentage and two shutouts.

- The Deacs will complete their spring regular season with a neutral match versus the Louisville Cardinals next Saturday. The match is set for 12 p.m.
