Parente becomes the 10th All-American selection for the Demon Deacons over the last six years.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Former Wake Forest men's soccer player Isaiah Parente has been named a 2020-21 Second-Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches, the association announced on Thursday.
Parente becomes the 10th All-American selection under current head coach Bobby Muuss and the 38th All-American selection in the program's 40-year history.
"Congratulations to Isaiah on a well-deserved All-American selection to cap off his Wake Forest career," Muuss said. "On what I believe was the best team in the country in the fall, Isaiah was a leader for us on and off the field. It should come as no surprise that he is continuing to have immediate success now as a professional with the Columbus Crew."
In six appearances during the fall portion of the 2020-21 season, Parente recorded four assists along with the game-winning goal against NC State in his final appearance for the Demon Deacons.
He was also named an All-ACC First-Team selection and a United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First-Team selection as well.
In his three years in Winston-Salem, the Medina, Ohio, native collected 19 assists with three goals.
In January, Parente became the ninth Demon Deacon to sign a Homegrown Contract, doing so with the defending MLS Cup Champions, Columbus Crew.
He has appeared in eight matches with three starts so far with the Crew this season. He made his professional debut on April 8 in a match against Real Esteli in the CONCACAF Champions League.
