Trio of Demon Deacons Named to NFHCA Division I All-Region Teams

Meike Lanckohr earned First Team All-South Region honors, while Laia Vancells and Nat Friedman landed on the region’s Second Team.
BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Meike Lanckohr, Laia Vancells and Nat Friedman continued to reel in postseason honors for their performances and contributions during the 2020-21 field hockey season as the trio garnered National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I All-Region accolades, announced today by the organization.
Lanckohr led the way, receiving First Team All-South Region honors, while Vancells and Friedman landed on the region's Second Team.
On April 22, the trio also garnered All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors.
The All-Region teams kicks off postseason awards for the NFHCA as the Regional Players of the Year will be announced on June 7, followed by the NFHCA All-American teams and the NFHCA National Player of the Year, which will be revealed during the live NFHCA Awards Show sponsored by AstroTurf® on June 15, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

- Appeared and started in 16 games
- Earned First Team All-ACC Honors
- Tied for a team-high 12 points, netting four goals and dishing out four assists
- Assisted on one of Wake Forest's goals in the ACC Automatic Qualifier Game at North Carolina on April 23
- Notched a season-high tying three points in Wake Forest's 4-1 win at Duke, scoring one goal and assisting on a score
- Found back of the net in the fall versus Syracuse (Oct. 18, 2020), Duke (Oct. 23, 2020) and Boston College (Nov. 1, 2021)
- Appeared in all 17 games, starting in 16-straight contests
- Received Second Team All-ACC Honors
- Combined for five points, scoring one goal and recording three assists
- Scored the game-winning goal at Virginia on Sept. 26, 2020
- Dished out assists in three Wake Forest wins against Duke (Oct. 23, 2020), Boston College (Nov. 1, 2020) and Virginia (March 27, 2021)
- Finished the regular season with a .636 shot-on goal percentage
- Appeared and started in all 17 games
- Received Second Team All-ACC Honors
- Finished the 2021 campaign with 11 points, tying for a team-best five goals and one assist
- Found the back of the net against North Carolina (Sept. 20, 2020), Syracuse (Oct. 18, 2020), Boston College (Nov. 1, 2020), Boston College (March 6, 2021) and Duke (March 13, 2021), three of which were game winners.
- Recorded a season-high three points with a goal and assist in Wake Forest's 4-1 victory over Duke (March 19, 2021)
- Took a team-high 29 shots, including 16 on goal for .552 shot on-goal percentage
