
Fitzpatrick Named PING First Team All-American

NORMAN, Okla. – Wake Forest men's golf junior Alex Fitzpatrick has been selected to the PING All-America First Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association Tuesday.
The Deacs are coming off a run at the NCAA National Champions where Wake Forest finished 13th in the country and Fitzpatrick finished T39. The Sheffield, England native currently leads the team with a 70.00 stroke average over 18 rounds this spring.
He won his first collegiate title in March at the Valspar Collegiate, which earned him an exemption to play in the 2022 PGA Tour Valspar Championship. He took the title with an impressive tournament card of 67-66-68 to finish 12 strokes under par. He registered three more top five finishes this spring along with a top 12 finish and a top 20 finish in six events.
Fitzpatrick was selected to the International Team for the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup, which he played in December at Bay Hill, and was chosen as a committee selection for the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup at Rich Harvest Farms in two weeks. He also competed for Team GBI at the 48 th Walker Cup with teammate Mark Power.
