Coach da Luz Announces 2021 Schedule

Wake Forest is slated to play 13 of its 20 games at iconic Spry Stadium.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Mark your calendars, Deacon Nation! Head coach Tony da Luz and the Wake Forest women's soccer team officially announced its 2021 schedule on Tuesday.
The Deacs' 2021 slate consists of two exhibitions, eight non-conference and 10 Atlantic Coast Conference matches. Wake Forest is scheduled to play 13 games at iconic Spry Stadium.
"I am excited about hosting 13 games at Spry this fall," said head coach Tony da Luz. "We have strong regional non-conference opponents High Point, Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina coming to Winston-Salem. Our ACC home schedule is also challenging with Virginia, Miami, Virginia Tech, Duke and NC State visiting Spry. Our schedule has competitive balance and gives us strong preparation for the postseason. I hope our fans will come out and support this fantastic 2021 team!"
The 2021 seasons will see the introduction of a number of new ticketing opportunities for Wake Forest Soccer to provide fans the opportunity to experience The Best Fan Experience In North Carolina. 2021 Schedule Breakdown
For the second-straight season Wake Forest will open its season at home as the Deacons are set to host University of Illinois at Chicago on Thursday, Aug. 19. The match begins a string of eight non-conference matches.
The Deacs hold a 14-5-1 record in season openers.
Wake Forest then welcomes High Point on Sunday, Aug. 22, before hitting the road for the first time. The first road match will take the Deacs to VCU (Aug. 26) for a Thursday showdown with the Rams. It will be the fourth meeting between the two programs.
The Deacs will then host two-consecutive games at Spry Stadium, welcoming Youngstown State (Aug. 29) and Loyola Maryland (Sept. 2) to Winston-Salem.
Wake Forest's last road non-conference match will come on Sunday, Sept. 5, when the Demon Deacons travel to Boone, N.C. to face Appalachian State. It will mark the third all-time meeting with the Mountaineers and the first since the 1995 season.
To wrap up the non-conference schedule, Wake Forest will play host to Coastal Carolina (Sept. 9) and Maryland (Sept. 12).
The Deacs open conference play against No. 3-ranked Virginia (Sept. 17) for the fourth time since 2010. Wake Forest will travel for three consecutive conference road games at Boston College (Sept. 23), Syracuse (Sept. 26) and Louisville (Oct. 1).
Miami (Oct. 7), Virginia Tech (Oct. 10), Duke (Oct. 15) and NC State (Oct. 21) will make appearances at Spry Stadium during the final month of the regular season. Wake Forest has played each opponent 13 times or more in the all-time series.
The Demon Deacons will close out the month of October with road matches against Pitt (Oct. 24) and Notre Dame (Oct. 28) to round out the regular season.
The ACC Tournament begins with the quarterfinals at the campus locations on October 31 with the semifinals and championship at Wake MedSoccer Park in Cary, NC (Nov. 5-7).
