
Coach Hayes Announces 2021 Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — It's almost time for our Demon Deacons to lace up their shoes, Deacon Nation! The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams released their upcoming 2021 season schedule on Friday.
"I am excited to release this schedule for the 2021 season," director of track & field and cross country John Hayes said. "After a record 2020 season a few months ago, we are excited and eager to lace up and prove how good we can be. We are going to be dangerous."
The Demon Deacons will open the season on Sept. 1 in a dual meet with Winston-Salem State University before heading east to the Friday Night Lights Elon Opener in Elon, N.C on Sept. 3.
The teams will top off the regular season with two weekends in the Triad area, competing at the Wolfpack Adidas Cross Country Challenge on Sept. 17 in Raleigh, NC and Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. on Oct. 8.
Wake Forest will wrap up the regular season at the Pre-National Invitational hosted by Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla. on October 15.
The Deacs will kick off the postseason in South Bend, Ind. for the ACC Cross Country Championships hosted by Notre Dame on Oct. 29. Two weeks after ACC's the Deacs will head to Lexington, KY for the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by Kentucky on Nov. 12.
Student-athletes could then have a chance to head to the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships that will be held in Tallahassee, Fla. at Florida State on Nov. 20.
