The former Demon Deacon All-Americans both finished inside of the top 20 on the Korn Ferry Tour standings this season to earn their status.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Former Wake Forest men's golfers Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris earned their PGA Tour card for next season after an impressive showing on the Korn Ferry Tour this year.
Young, a 2018 PING All-American, became the first player since 2013 to capture back-to-back Korn Ferry Tour victories earlier this season. He finished 19th on the Korn Ferry Tour standings.
Young also led or co-led all eight rounds in his two wins, setting a Tour record for consecutive rounds led or co-led. He was just the 10th player in Korn Ferry Tour history to win back-to-back tournaments with victories at the 2021 AdventHealth Championship and 2021 Evans Scholars Invitational presented by First Midwest Bank.
During his time at Wake Forest, the Scarborough, N.Y. native was an All-ACC selection three times in his career as well as a PING All-East Region three times.
Young ended his Demon Deacon career with five career individual titles including three during his senior season, which was tied for the most in program history since 2004.
Zalatoris, who finished ninth on the Korn Ferry Tour standings, became one of the hottest names in the game of golf this year and climbed to as high as No. 29 in the World Golf Rankings. He currently is ranked No. 31 in the world.
Over the last calendar year, Zalatoris is the only player in the world to finish in the top eight in three of his last five major appearances. This includes nearly winning the 85th Masters in his debut at the tournament.
While at Wake Forest, Zalatoris was a two-time All-America selection and holds the Wake Forest record with a 70.44 career stroke average.
He also won ACC Rookie of the Year in 2015 and is one of five Wake Forest players to earn the honor.
