Hartman Named to 2021 Golden Arm Award Watch List Top 25

The redshirt sophomore is having his best season to date as a Demon Deacon, completing 66.1 percent of his throws this season.
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Wake Forest redshirt sophomore quarterback Sam Hartman was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Top 25, as announced by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation alongside presenting partner, A. O. Smith on Thursday.
Through four games this season, Hartman has had a career year, completing a career-best 66.1 percent of his passes (74-of-112 passes). Not only is this the best in his career, the mark is also second in Wake Forest history, trailing just ACC record holder Riley Skinner who completed 72.4 percent of his throws (236-of-326 passes) in 2007.
Dating back to last season, Hartman has now thrown at least one touchdown pass in eight straight games. Over that stretch he has 18 touchdown passes to seven different receivers.
Sam Hartman tossed three touchdowns on Friday night in the win over Virginia, marking the fourth-time in his career with at least three touchdown passes in a game. Additionally, Hartman now has 42 career touchdown passes and is just one touchdown throw away from moving into of six-place in Wake Forest history:

Hartman's nine touchdowns this season are tied for 16th nationally while the Charlotte, N.C. native has only tossed just one interception this season. Only 14 qualified quarterbacks have less interceptions this season. Additionally, his passing efficiency rating of 162.9 ranks 26th among all FBS quarterbacks through four weeks.
