LAST TIME OUT
Wake Forest extended its win streak to six and set a program record for most consecutive shutouts, taking a 2-0 victory at App State.
The Deacs have yet to concede a goal this season as they hold a six-game shutout streak, during which they have remained unbeaten. Dating back to last season, Wake Forest has gone 565 minutes without conceding a goal. It is the longest shutout streak in program history.
Malaika Meena initiated the scoring in the 9th minute as she received a perfect ball from Sofia Rossi who played it into the box. Meena capitalized by getting her foot on the ball for the early goal.
Up 1-0, Rossi collected her second assist of the night after she flicked a ball into the box. Senior Shayla Smart dished a pass that narrowly slid past the App State keeper and right into the foot of Menta. The graduate student punched it in to put the Deacs up 2-0 at the half.
In the second half, the Deacs defense only allowed three shots off as the offense fired 28 shots, placing 22 on goal. The Deacs earned 11 corners in the bottom half of the match, combining for 16 total.
The Deacs have outscored their opponents, 16-0.

This is the first ACC Offensive Player of the Week nod for the Demon Deacons this season, and first since Bailey Feist on October 17, 2017.
