WINSTON-SALEM, N.C - Dr. Peter Brubaker has been a faculty member at Wake Forest for over 30 years.

Brubaker received his bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsburg University. Upon graduation, he attended Wake Forest where he received his masters degree in Clinical Exercise Science and Cardiac Rehabilitation. Shortly after graduating from Wake Forest, Dr. Brubaker attended Temple University where he was awarded a doctorate in Exercise and Cardiovascular Physiology.

In 1991, Dr. Brubaker returned to Winston-Salem when he accepted a position as a Professor of Health and Exercise Science and Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Wake Forest. Dr. Brubaker has taught multiple undergraduate and graduate classes and is now Chair of the department.

In 2016, Brubaker became the Faculty Athletic Representative to the ACC and the NCAA. In this position, Brubaker serves as a liaison between student-athletes and administrators. Brubaker focuses on academic integrity, governance, and student-athlete welfare.

He represents Wake Forest when there is a vote needed in the ACC or the NCAA. This requires Brubaker to consult frequently with President, Dr. Susan R. Wente and Athletics Director, John Currie.

Dr. Brubaker has built relationships with many of the Demon Deacon student-athletes during his time in this position. He is often concerned with the social, mental, and physical well-being of the Wake Forest student-athletes.

Brubaker is also an ever present at athletic competitions and Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meetings. Being present at these meetings gives him insight into the minds of the student-athletes that represent Wake Forest and their values.

Additionally, he is the Chair of the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
