The Matchup

  • Both Wake Forest and Boston College will be looking to bounce back from midweek losses on Tuesday night, as the Deacs dropped a 2-1 road decision at William & Mary while the Eagles fell 1-0 at home to Brown.

  • Wake Forest enters the match with a 10-3-0 overall record on the year and is currently one of four programs (No. 1 Washington, No. 5 Syracuse and No. 12 Vermont) with 10 or more wins so far during the 2022 campaign.

  • The match will serve as the sixth ACC game for each side, as Wake Forest currently has three conference wins on the season and sits in third place in the ACC Atlantic Division while Boston College scored a 2-0 win over NC State last weekend for the Eagles' first conference win of the year.

  • Wake Forest will be in search of its eighth home win of the 2022 campaign and 91st victory at Spry Stadium since the start of the 2015 season, most in the country. Entering the weekend's action, the Deacs' seven home victories this season are tied for most in the country with No. 1 Washington, No. 6 Portland and No. 23 UNC Greensboro.

Last Time Out

  • Despite dominating the time of possession (63 percent) and nearly logging triple the amount of shots (14 to five), Wake Forest suffered a 2-1 defeat at William & Mary on Tuesday night.

  • William & Mary jumped out to an early lead in the 19th minute before Wake Forest responded in the 33rd minute, as sophomore Ryan Fessler tallied his first goal of the season off a gorgeous direct free kick attempt outside of the 18-yard box.

  • After the two sides went into the halftime break level at 1-1, the Deacs came out firing in the second half with six shots in the first 25 minutes of the second frame.

  • The Tribe, however, were able to find the game-winner in the 75th minute as the Deacs fell to 7-1-0 against non-conference opponents this season.

Scouting The Eagles

  • Boston College's offense this season has been led by senior striker Stefan Sigurdarson. The native of Iceland currently is tied for the ACC lead in goals with seven including the opener in the Eagles' 2-0 victory over NC State last weekend.

  • Brennan Klein and Leon Musial have split time for goalkeeper duties, with Klein starting three of the last four matches.

  • This will be the 20th meeting between the two sides, as the Demon Deacons hold a 10-7-2 all-time record against the Eagles.

  • The Demon Deacons are 5-1-1 all-time against the Eagles at Spry Stadium and winners of the last four at Wake Forest's home.

Looking Ahead

  • Wake Forest will play its final non-conference regular season match on Tuesday night, hosting Wofford in the first match against the Terriers since the 2012 season.

  • Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
