Plus, two Thanksgiving matchups involving former Deacs.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Week 11 of the 2022 NFL season saw a former Demon Deacon wide receiver steal the show on Monday Night Football and had another one find a new home. Plus, multiple Deacs are going to take center stage on Thanksgiving.
Here's a look at how the #ProDeacs did this week.
Career Day for Dortch in Primetime
Cardinal wide receiver Greg Dortch caught nine passes for a career-high 103 yards in the Arizona loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. This includes a 47-yard pickup on a dump pass from Colt McCoy to get the Cardinals into the red zone as he juked out several San Francisco defenders along the way. A few plays later, he picked up a first down to keep the drive alive before James Conner ran it in for the only Arizona touchdown of the game.
Dortch now has 34 receptions for 324 total yards in his second season with the Cardinals, which ranks fifth on the team in both categories. Additionally, he ranks 11th in the NFL in punt return yardage with 144 on 22 returns.
Hinton Continues to Impress
In a more extended role, Broncos wide receiver Kendall Hinton continues to shine with multiple receptions in each of the last two weeks. On Sunday while facing former Wake Forest teammate Luke Masterson on the Raiders, Hinton grabbed three balls for 57 yards and nearly found the endzone on a 32-yard connection with Russell Wilson.
Over the last two weeks, Hinton has pulled in seven receptions for 119.
Practice Squad Signing
Alex Bachman, former member of the New York Giants, signed to the Houston Texans practice squad last Tuesday. The wide receiver led the NFL in preseason receptions with 19, including a game in which he recorded 11 catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
