Garrison Tubbs Named United Soccer Coaches First-Team Scholar All-American

Tubbs adds Academic All-American honors to his long list of accolades on the field and in the classroom.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Wake Forest men's soccer junior Garrison Tubbs has been named a United Soccer Coaches first-team Scholar All-American, the organization announced on Thursday.
Tubbs, a Finance major, becomes the sixth Academic All-American selection in program history and the second first-team Academic All-American under head coach Bobby Muuss, joining Kevin Politz (2017).
He has also twice been named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll and the All-ACC Academic Team.
This honor comes after Tubbs earned a United Soccer Coaches first-team All-South Region selection earlier this month. In November, he was also named All-ACC second-team.
On the field, Tubbs helped lead Wake Forest to 14 wins this season – tied for fourth-most in the country in 2022 – including 11 at Spry Stadium as the Demon Deacons secured an ACC-best 12th-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The junior captain started all 20 matches for Wake Forest, anchoring a backline that tallied eight clean sheets and held three different opponents without a shot on goal (UAB, NC State and Jacksonville).
Tubbs also contributed on the attacking end, scoring two goals – both game-winning strikes – along with two assists.
In September, he garnered the first ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors of his career for performances in victories over Winthrop and NC State.
