Deacs Announce Support Staff Additions

Wake Forest Athletics and head coach Dave Clawson has hired six off-field staff members since the season ended.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Ahead of spring football beginning on Thursday, Wake Forest Athletics has hired six off-field staff members to help the Demon Deacons football program.
Addisyn Goodson, On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator
Addisyn Goodson was named as Wake Forest football's On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator in Feb. 2022. Goodson arrived in Winston-Salem after serving as the Director of On-Campus Recruiting at the University of Hawaii.
While at Hawaii, Goodson helped plan and execute all official visits, unofficial visits, and tours for potential recruits and their families. Additionally, she supervised prospects to ensure that each prospect meets the coaches, specifically their prospective position coach during gameday visits.
Goodson worked closely with Hawaii's compliance office to ensure that the program is operating in compliance within all conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
A Dallas, Texas native, Goodson has a bachelor's degree in business marketing and sports management from the University of Oklahoma. During her time in Norman as a student she was an equipment manager for the Sooners women's basketball team and worked as a property assistant with Sooner Sports Properties.
Alyse King, Associate Head Football Athletic Trainer
Alyse King joined the Wake Forest Athletics Sports Medicine staff in Feb. 2022. Prior to that, she worked at North Carolina State University on its Sports Medicine staff from 2014-22. She was the Associate Head Football Athletic Trainer for the Wolfpack.
Prior to joining the Wolfpack, King was the Assistant Athletic Trainer for Football at the University of South Alabama.
A native of Clayton, Ohio, King graduated cum laude from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in athletic training. She then spent two years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for football at Ohio University where she received her Master's degree in the nationally accredited Post Professional Athletic Training program.
King is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (Intermediate/Advanced).
King is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and served as the inaugural chair of the National Athletic Training Students' Committee.
Tarik Muse, Coordinator of Sports Performance, Football
Tarik Muse was named a Sports Performance Coordinator for Football in Feb. 2022.
Prior to coming to Wake Forest, Muse spent two seasons (2020-21) at Kansas as the Jayhawks Assistant Football Sports Performance Coach. From internships to other positions, Muse has worked at Mercer, Youngstown State, NC State, Duke and Akron.
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Additionally, he is CPR/AED certified by the American Heart Association.
Muse is a 2019 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in Applied Science. He earned his master's in Higher Educational Leadership from Mercer in 2020.
Benjamin Reynolds, Sports Performance Coordinator, Football
Benjamin Reynolds came to Winston-Salem in Feb. 2022 as Wake Forest's Sports Performance Coordinator for Football.
Before coming to Wake Forest, Reynolds spent the past 19 months at Kennesaw State serving as the Owls Assistant Football Sports Performance Coach. He has also made stops at Emory University, South Carolina and James Madison.
Reynolds graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. He also graduated from Georgia State University with his Master's degree in Sports Administration.
Kate Ruley, Executive Assistant to the Head Coach
Kate Ruley began her position as Executive Assistant to the Head Coach in Jan. 2022.
Prior to her arrival, Ruley was in private practice with Body In Mind Nutrition, LLC in Winston-Salem for two years. Additionally, Ruley worked as a director of sports nutrition at Wake Forest Athletics from Jan. 2017 to July 2020.
She has a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from Queens University as well as a master's in nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ruley was a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness and Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Associations. She is board certified in sports dietetics.
Her responsibilities include the organization and management of the football office.
Ryan Schutta, Special Teams Analyst
Ryan Schutta officially joined the Wake Forest football staff in March of 2022 after serving as a football recruiting intern for the Deacons this past season.
Schutta is a 2020 graduate of Wesleyan University, where he was captain of the football team as an offensive lineman.
