GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's basketball team will be the No. 5 seed in the ACC Tournament, as announced by the league office Saturday night.
The Demon Deacons (23-8, 13-7 ACC) are set to play the winner of the Pitt - Boston College game on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Purchase your tickets today and come cheer on the Deacs in Brooklyn.
The winner of the game will face No. 4 seed Miami (22-9, 14-6 ACC) at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2 and available for streaming via ACC Network Extra.
The last time the Deacs faced Pitt and Boston College this season, they won by a combined 46 points, beating Boston College by 30 and Pitt by 16, both at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem.
This is the highest seed the Demon Deacons have earned since the 2009-10 season when they were also the five-seed and advanced to the quarterfinals. Along with their tournament seed, the Wake Forest men's basketball team has reached many milestones this season in the second year of the Steve Forbes era.
The 13 conference wins and 16 home wins by the Deacs this season both tie program records and the 10-win conference game turnaround from a year ago is the largest year-to-year turnaround ever in the Atlantic Coast Conference for league victories.
Additionally, Wake Forest defeated nine ACC opponents by a margin of 15 or more points this season, which is the most 15-plus point ACC wins in program history and also the most such wins in the league since Virginia defeated nine conference foes by 15 or more in the 2018-19 season.
