Coach's Comments
"Congrats to Boston College. I thought they did a great job challenging us at the rim defensively and finishing at the rim on offense. They did a really good job in their defensive transition, got downhill on their drives, and their bigs had great games. We had a 10-point lead with six minutes left to go and we just self-destructed defensively. We couldn't get stops or 50/50 balls, and they scored on eight of their last 10 shots. We called a play for Jake and Alondes to finish the game in the timeout, we got the stop, and I probably should have used one of my timeouts, though we already had the play called. I'll take the blame on that. It was a pick-and-roll play with Jake and Alondes, and Alondes refused the pick and just charged. Jake and Alondes together had 11 turnovers and Daivien Williamson and Isaiah Mucius went 2-for-14 from the field. In a big game like this, it's hard to win that way. For the majority of the game, their physicality bothered us and we did not play well through contact. All that paired with 13-of-24 from the free throw line is just a bad recipe. Credit to Boston College, and Earl Grant has done a really good job with his team." - Coach Steve Forbes
