The Demon Deacons will host the Terrapins in 2030 before a return trip to College Park during the 2031 season.

WINSTON-SALEM. N.C. -- The Wake Forest football program announced Wednesday that it has added a home-and-home series against historical opponent and current Big Ten conference member Maryland for the 2030 and 2031 football seasons.

The Demon Deacons will face the Terrapins in Winston-Salem on Sept. 7, 2030, and the Deacs will travel to College Park, Md. for a contest on Sept. 6, 2031.

"Bringing major intraconference matchups to Truist Field and Winston-Salem is part of our commitment to having the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina", said Wake Forest athletics director  John Currie. "And with our strong alumni base in the District, Maryland and Virginia region, our Wake Washington program and many current and future Deacon students from the area, playing in College Park is a great opportunity for our entire University community."

"This series will help us continue to raise the profile of Wake Forest football as we will play in the nation's capital and playing high-profile Power-5 opponents helps our strength of schedule," head coach Dave Clawson said. "The DMV and surrounding area has a great history of producing high-level football players and it will be exciting to play in an area where we consistently recruit future Demon Deacons."

The matchup in 2030 will mark the first time since 2013 that the two programs will meet and mark the 63rd time overall that Wake Forest and Maryland will face each other. The series dates back to 1917 when the Deacs traveled to Maryland. The two programs played each other every year between 1971 to 2013.
