Demon Deacons Announce Additions to Staff

Hosch comes to Wake Forest after spending the previous two seasons working at Northwestern as an Offensive Graduate Assistant and Quality Control Coach.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Ahead of the start of the 2022 season, The Wake Forest football program added analyst Scott Hosch and assistant equipment manager of football Charles Weinberg to the staff, as announced on Thursday.

Hosch comes to Wake Forest after spending the previous three seasons working at Northwestern, spending the previous two years as an Offensive Graduate Assistant and Quality Control Coach. During his time with the Wildcats, he assisted Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald and the Offensive Coordinator to develop, prepare and install game plans as well as build scouting reports on a weekly basis.
 
While working closely with the quarterback room in his two seasons, he was also responsible for managing the quality control and analytics interns.
 
During his first season on the offensive side of the ball, the Wildcats reached the Big Ten Championship Game, falling to the eventual national runner-up, Ohio State. Northwestern went on to defeat Auburn in the Citrus Bowl, 35-19.
 
In the 2019 season, Hosch was a scouting assistant in the recruiting department at Northwestern.
 
Prior to his time in Evanston, Hosch was the offensive coordinator for two seasons at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, Calif. where he held play calling and game planning responsibilities for the program.
 
After a stellar career that includes being Harvard's single-season passing yards record holder, he also spent time with the Detroit Lions.
 
Hosch earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from Harvard in 2016 while also earning Academic All-Ivy twice. Additionally, he finished his collegiate career with a 15-1 career record while also being named the 2015 Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year and New England Dl Player of the Year.

Charles Weinberg (Assistant Equipment Manager of Football)
Weinberg joins the Demon Deacon equipment staff from Missouri State and will help run daily Wake Forest football practices, lead the maintenance and upkeep of helmets and shoulder pads and help in gameday responsibilities.
 
In addition to his experience at Missouri State, Weinberg made stops in Charlotte, Tulsa and Marshall's football equipment rooms. In these roles, Weinberg oversaw all day-to-day operation, assisted in all ordering, issuing, and management of budgets for numerous sports, organized and oversaw practice and practice set-up and managed groups of student assistants and interns. 
 
In addition to his experience in football, Weinberg spent the 2016 with the Dayton Dragons as a clubhouse manager. 
 
Weinberg graduated Cum Laude with a bachelors in Sports Management and Marketing from Marshall in 2014. He also earned a masters from Wright State University in 2018. Additionally, he is an AEMA Certified member. 
 
Weinberg and his girlfriend have one daughter, Raelynn.
