Atlantic Coast Conference Announces League Schedule for 2022-23

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has announced the full schedule for league play during the 2022-23 season. Wake Forest will host 10 conference opponents inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum this season, including all three 'Big Four' teams.
The Demon Deacons open up December with their first conference test, making a visit to the Clemson Tigers on Dec. 2. Following the conclusion of its non-conference slate, the team will hold its first 'Big Four' matchup on its own floor on Dec. 20, bringing Duke into town. Another home contest, versus Virginia Tech on Dec. 31, will round out 2022.
Opening the new year, Wake Forest makes a trip to nearby Chapel Hill for a road contest against North Carolina (Jan. 4). Days later, the Deacs will travel out of state to Louisville (Jan. 7). After scheduled meetings against Florida State, Boston College, Clemson, and Virginia in January, Wake Forest will close out the month with a trip up North to Pittsburgh for a Jan. 25 matchup. The Deacs will return home to take on NC State in another 'Big Four' battle on Jan. 28, followed by a visit to Duke on Jan. 31.
The team will begin February on the road at Notre Dame on Feb. 4 before returning to LJVM for their final home 'Big Four' contest against North Carolina on Feb. 7. Afterward, contests versus Georgia Tech, Miami and NC State will take place before Wake Forest holds its final week of home games, playing Notre Dame (Feb. 25) and Boston College (Feb. 28). A road meeting at Syracuse on March 4 will close out the regular season for the Deacons.
Wake Forest finished with a 13-7 ACC record during the 2021-22 campaign, generating the largest year-to-year turnaround in conference history and tying a program record for the most ACC wins in a single season. The Deacs finished fifth in the conference standings and earned their first ACC Tournament top-5 seed since 2010.
