WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 16 Wake Forest football team opens conference play against No. 5 Clemson on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 12 p.m. on ABC inside Truist Field.
Wake Forest has now started the season 3-0 or better for the fifth time in the last seven years. During that six-year span, the Demon Deacons have made a bowl game every season.
Additionally, since the start of the 2016 season, Wake Forest holds a record of 20-5 in Sept. This includes seven of eight seasons in the Dave Clawson era with multiple wins in the month.
Wake Forest forced four turnovers against Liberty (three interceptions and a fumble recovery). The Deacs now have forced a turnover in 18-straight games dating back to the 2020 Duke's Mayo Bowl.
The Demon Deacons have forced a turnover in 33 of their last 34 games dating back to Sept. 28, 2019. The lone contest without a turnover was Wake Forest's regular season finale at Louisville in 2020.
Over the past seven seasons, Wake Forest has a combined +45 turnover margin.
