Wake Forest Men's Soccer Announces 2023 Spring Schedule

The Demon Deacons will compete in an eight-match slate during the spring and host the finals of the Spring Soccer Cup at Spry Stadium on Sunday, April 16.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest men's soccer has announced its 2023 spring schedule, which features five matches at Spry Stadium including the finals of the Spring Soccer Cup. 

Home games against Belmont Abbey (Feb. 25), Pitt (March 26), St. Andrews (March 26) and York Region Selects (April 6) will be free admission for all entrants to Spry. Tickets for the Spring Soccer Cup are on sale now at $20 for adults, $10 for kids and $5 for groups of 10 or more. 

"We are excited to return to the pitch this spring with five of our eight matches at Spry Stadium including the Spring Soccer Cup Finals, which provides fans with a great opportunity to see a day full of elite college soccer right here in Winston-Salem," said head coach Bobby Muuss. "The spring schedule is key to furthering our program's individual and collective development as we build towards the 2023 season."

The Demon Deacons will open the spring with a home match against Belmont Abbey on Saturday, Feb. 25 for a 10 a.m. start followed by a matchup with fellow 2022 NCAA Tournament participant North Carolina later that day at 5 p.m. at MacPherson Stadium in Greensboro, N.C.  

The showdown with the Tar Heels will be the first of three-straight matches against ACC opponents as part of the Spring Soccer Cup, as Wake Forest will travel to Blacksburg, Va., to face Virginia Tech on Saturday, March 18 before returning to Spry on Sunday, March 26 against 2022 College Cup participant Pitt.  

After the Pitt contest, Wake Forest will conclude the day hosting St. Andrews at 4:30 p.m. 

The Deacs will travel to Morgantown, W.Va., on Saturday, April 1, to face West Virginia for a 12 noon kickoff at Dick Dlesk Stadium followed by a home tilt against York Region Selects on Thursday, April 6 at 6 p.m. 

Wake Forest will conclude the slate hosting the Spring Soccer Cup finals on Sunday, April, 16. An annual showcase of some of the country's elite programs, Wake Forest will be joined by Clemson, Georgetown, Pitt, Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Maryland for the final event of the Spring Soccer Cup. 

Together, these 10 programs over the last four seasons have combined to earn 31 NCAA Tournaments bids, seven College Cup appearances and two National Championships over the last four seasons.
