Greg Dortch records season highs as his teammate and fellow Demon Deacon Blake Whiteheart makes his NFL debut.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Week 11 of the NFL season is in the books as the impact of Demon Deacons across the league continues to grow. Here is how our #ProDeacs performed during the slate of week 11 matchups.
Dortch Records Season-Highs
Wide receiver Greg Dortch had his best game of the 2023 season with a season-high six catches for 76 yards (12.7 per catch) in the 21-16 loss to the Houston Texans. He recorded four catches for 10-or-more yards, all for first downs, including a 31-yard reception in the 4th quarter. Additionally, he had a kick return for 23 yards and a punt return for three yards. He posted the highest Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade on the offense with a 77.1, which also marked his highest grade of the season. Of note, teammate Blake Whiteheart made his NFL debut during the game, playing on five plays on special teams.
Dortch's 76 yards moved him over 500 receiving yards for his career. The fifth-year player now has 77 catches for 560 yards (9.0 yards per catch) and two touchdowns. The Cardinals fell to the Texans, 21-16.
Masterson Punch Sets Up Score
An undrafted free agent from 2022, Luke Masterson, recorded four tackles, including a forced fumble, in the Las Vegas Raiders 20-12 loss to the Miami Dolphins. He set the offense up at the Miami 30-yard line after punching the ball loose from Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Raiders capitalized with a field goal to go up 3-0 with 6:41 remaining in the first quarter. It was his second forced-fumble on the season, the only player on the team with more than one.
Masterson played 23 snaps and posted a rating of 81.6 grade according to Pro Football Focus, the fourth-highest on the team and his best mark of the season when playing more than 20 snaps, third-best overall.
Thanksgiving Slate
A pair of Demon Deacons, offensive linemen Zach Tom and Phil Haynes, will be making appearances during Thursday's slate of NFL games. First, Tom and the Green Bay Packers will be taking on the long-time rival and divisional foe Detroit Lions at 12:30 p.m. on FOX. At 8:20 p.m., Haynes and the Seahawks will be hosting the San Francisco 49ers in a battle of the NFC West's top teams on NBC.
