Demon Deacons Announce Support Staff Hires

Lucas Patin has been promoted from his intern role at Wake Forest, while Will Houck joins the Demon Deacons following a two-year stint at East Carolina. Additionally, Ladaria Jackson has been hired as football’s director of on-campus recruiting.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Following the announcement of Herb Reinhard as the Demon Deacons Head Football Athletic Trainer on April 13, Wake Forest Athletics has announced two new full-time hires in the Athletic Training room on Friday. Additionally, head coach Dave Clawson announced today the addition of Ladaria Jackson as the program's on-campus recruiting assistant.
Will Houck, Assistant Athletic Trainer, Football
Will Houck joined the Demon Deacons staff in April. 2023 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer on Friday. He comes to Winston-Salem after spending the last two seasons at East Carolina where he was hired as an assistant athletic trainer in July 2021 and worked with the Pirates football program.
Prior to his time in Greenville, Houck served as an assistant athletic trainer at Troy University where he worked primarily with the men's basketball, women's volleyball and women's soccer programs.
Houck earned his Master's in Athletic Training from the University of Montana in May 2018 while also working at student clinical rotations. From there, he was a student intern with the Northwestern University football team.
Houck also served as an athletic training assistant at Coastal Carolina University, working with the football team as well as the men's and women's tennis programs.
Prior to earning his master's, Houck earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in athletic training at Central Washington University in 2015. He is a member of the South Eastern Athletic Trainer's Association, the Alabama Athletic Trainer's Association, the Northwest Athletic Trainer's Association, the Montana Athletic Trainer's Association and the Washington State Athletic Trainer's Association as well as the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Lucas Patin Assistant Athletic Trainer, Football
Lucas Patin joined the Wake Forest Athletics Sports Medicine staff in May 2022 as an intern, and was promoted to Assistant Athletic Trainer in April 2023. Prior to that, he worked at Valdosta State as a graduate assistant on its athletics training staff from 2020-21.
Before his time at VSU, he was an athletic training student for LSU beach volleyball during the 2019-20 academic year and he spent the summer of 2019 as an intern with the Tennessee Titans.
Additionally during his time as a student at LSU, he worked with the football and women's basketball programs.
Patin, who earned an LSU School of Kinesiology Gary Albright Scholarship in 2018, is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and is an American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider.
Patin is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and earned the SEATA Jerry Rhea / Atlanta Falcons Undergraduate Scholarship in Spring 2018.
Ladaria Jackson, On-Campus Recruiting Assistant
Ladaria Jackson was promoted in April 2023 to her current role as on-campus recruiting assistant after joining Wake Forest Athletics as a recruiting assistant in football four months earlier in January 2023.
Jackson joined the Wake Forest staff in June 2022 as a recruiting intern and originally came to Winston-Salem after serving in two different roles at UNC Charlotte. She was a media relations intern and a student recruiting assistant.
Jackson earned her bachelor of arts in communication studies & public relations from Charlotte in May 2022.
