SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The No. 2 Demon Deacons have advanced to the quarterfinals of match play at the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club. This is the first time the Deacs have advanced to match play at Grayhawk. The last time Wake was in match play at NCAA Championships, they advanced to the final match against Duke for a program-best runner up finish in 2019.

Across the four rounds of stroke play, Wake Forest led all teams in the field in scoring on par three holes, going eight under. The team recorded the most pars of any school in the field, with 141, and recorded 63 birdies, good for third-most in the field.

Senior Lauren Walsh was second in scoring on par threes, going three under, and second on par fours, also going three under. Graduate Emilia Migliaccio recorded the most pars of any player in the field, with 54, and Walsh had the third-most birdies, with 18.

For the second day in a row, sophomore Carolina Chacarra led the Deacs with the low round, shooting her best score so far with a four-under 68. She had back-to-back birdies before making the turn on holes seven and eight and recorded two more back-to-back coming out of the turn on holes 10 and 11. She also birdied the par-three 16th hole before closing out her round.

Senior Lauren Walsh bounced back from her Sunday round with a Monday score of three-under 69. For the second time this week, she recorded four-straight birdies, on holes five, six, seven and eight. She made the turn four under and also birdied the par-four 14th hole before ending the day three under and six under for the event.

Senior Rachel Kuehn had her best day since Friday, shooting a one-under 71. After a birdie on the par-four sixth hole, she made the turn one over but a birdie on the par-four 10th to start her second half of the day put her back at even. She made two more birdies on the 14th and 16th holes before ending the day one under.

Junior Mimi Rhodes started off on the right foot with a birdie on the first hole of the day and recorded another on the par-five seventh to make the turn one under. She had one more birdie before the day was done to finish at one over.

After a turbulent start to the day, graduate Emilia Migliaccio finished out her final round of stroke play with eight straight pars.

The Deacs will tee off at 9:20 a.m. ET for Tuesday's quarterfinals against Florida State. The winner of the match will advance to the semifinals tomorrow afternoon against the winner of the Texas/Texas A&M match. Live scoring will be available with hole-by-hole updates all day.

Television coverage will be Noon-2:30 ET and 5-9 p.m. on GOLF Channel, 4:30-5 p.m. on College Central and 9-10 p.m. on Golf Central.

Coach's Comments
"The team came out rested and ready this morning. They stuck to the game plan and executed in tough conditions. We're excited to be headed to match play, especially against a familiar opponent like Florida State. We've seen them a lot in match play at ACC's and are looking forward to an exciting day of golf tomorrow. Our first goal was to be in the top eight, and we've done that. But we still have more to achieve in the next two days. Go Deacs!" - Head Coach Kim Lewellen
