The 10-event regular season features two tournaments hosted by the Demon Deacons with the Highlands Invitational in the fall and The Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst No. 2 in the spring.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The 2023-24 Wake Forest men's golf season is right around the corner and with the first event just a few weeks away the Demon Deacons announced the season schedule for the upcoming year.

The 10-event regular season features two tournaments hosted by the Demon Deacons with the Highlands Invitational in the fall and The Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst No. 2 in the spring.

The Fall Schedule
The fall is full of playing opportunities for everyone on the team, playing all around the country at historic clubs and in challenging environments.

The Highlands Invitational is a new event this season as it will take place at Chicago Highlands in Westchester, Ill. The club is regularly named one of the top courses in the state of Illinois and the par-4 ninth was named by Golf Digest one of the 18 best holes built in the U.S. since 2000.

This will be the first ever collegiate event at the golf course and the Demon Deacons are proud to be the host of the inaugural event. This will be the first opportunity of the season for the entire roster roster to play in the same event.

Chicago Highlands hosted the 2020 Evans Scholar Invitational on the Korn Ferry Tour where Will Zalatoris finished tied for second at 16-under-par. Additionally, the club is in the running to potentially host the BMW Championship on the PGA Tour, starting in 2025.

The fall slate also features events that will have strong fields starting with the Sahalee Players Championship at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash. from Sept. 9-10. The course hosted the 1998 PGA Championship, 2002 WGC-NEC Invitational, 2010 U.S. Senior Open and 2016 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Additionally, it will host the 2024 KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

The Deacs annual trip to Texas for the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational will provide good memories for Wake Forest rising senior Michael Brennan who captured this as one of his six collegiate titles when he was a sophomore in 2021. The Deacs will travel to Fort Worth, Texas at historic Shady Oaks Country Club on Oct. 1-2.

After a renovation, the tournament will return to Colonial Country Club next season.

The last time the Demon Deacons competed as a team at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in 2014, the Deacs won with a score of 18-under-par while Will Zalatoris took home medalist honors with a three-rounds core of 10-under-par. The event will take place from Oct. 8-10.

The fall wraps up with the always competitive and strong field at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational in Alpharetta, Ga. from Oct. 13-15. The Demon Deacons have played in the event every year since 2010, winning the event in 2015 with Cameron Young taking home medalist honors.

The Spring Slate
The spring also brings memories of a Michael Brennan victory as he will be set to defend his individual title at the Southwestern Invitational in Westlake Village, Calif. at North Ranch Country Club from Jan. 29-31, 2024.

The Genesis Collegiate Showcase at historic Riviera Country Club is one of the more special events of the season with a select number of Demon Deacons fighting for both team and individual honors on Feb. 12, 2024. Last year, Marshall Meisel and his team won the team title and in 2022 Michael Brennan won the individual title, punching his ticket to the PGA Tour's Genesis Invitational.

The winner of the event will earn an exemption to the Genesis Scottish Open. The tournament will be a fun, new format of three college-affiliated supporters and one college player per group.

The Invitational at the Ford at Ford Field & River Golf Club in Richmond, Ga. (Feb. 26-27) and the Louisiana Classic at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, Louisiana (March 11-12) offer new events to the schedule for the Deacs.

The tournaments are sandwiched by the Deacs second home event of the season with the Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst No. 2. The Deacs and Michael Brennan won this event during the 2021 season and will look to put on another strong showing at the historic course from March 4-5, 2024. The course will be the host of the 2024 U.S. Open  only 40 days after the Wake Forest Invitational and also has future dates booked for the U.S. Open in 2029, 2035, 2041 and 2047.

The regular season concludes with two mainstays of the Wake Forest schedule in the Valspar Collegiate and the Calusa Cup which have had strong showings from the last few years, helping them to peak at the right time before postseason play. The Valspar will take place at the Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. from March 25-26 while the Calusa Cup will be held at Calusa Pines Golf Club in Naples, Fla. from April 1-3, 2024.

The Postseason
The Demon Deacons, who are coming off back-to-back visits to the championship match at the ACC Championships including the program's 19th team title in 2022 and Michael Brennan winning the individual title in 2023, will compete against its conference foes at Charlotte Country Club from April 22-25.

NCAA Regional play will run from May 13-15.

After a three-year run in Arizona, the NCAA Championships will be contested this year at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. From May 24-29.
