
Former Deac, Evan Beck Advanced to the Round of 16 at the USGA Mid-Am

Evan Beck ‘13 won 3 and 1 during the round of 32 at the USGA Mid-Am
Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.- Former Demon Deacon, Evan Beck moved on to the round of 16 at Sleepy Hollow Country Club today. Beck played for Wake Forest from 2009-2013 and garnered many awards during his collegiate career.
The Virginia native received two All-ACC selections and two All-American selections. At Wake Forest, Beck made ten top-10 tournament finishes. During his senior season, Beck led the team with a 71.8 scoring average.
The former Deac has won four USGA events with eight top-ten appearances in 20 tournaments. Beck picked up his tournament wins at the 2021 VSGA Mid-Am, 2022 George C. Thomas Invitational, 2022 Eastern Amateur Championship, and 2022 VSGA Mid-Am.
The 2023 USGA Mid-Am is taking place at Sleepy Hollow Country Club this year. During his road to the round of 16, Beck shot even during stroke play and went 3 and 2 during the round of 64. The 56th ranked amateur finished T28 during the stroke play round of the tournament.
The USGA Mid-Am has crowned two former Deacs as champions. Jay Sigel won in 1983, '85, and '87. Matthew McClean took home the USGA Mid-Am last year at Erin Hills. The round of 16 tee times have yet to be announced.
