Hao in Contention After 36 Holes at Qubein Cup

Freshman Jorge Hao sits inside the top 15 heading into the final round
GREENSBORO, N.C.- After 36 holes at the prestigious Sedgefield Country Club, freshman Jorge Hao is in contention for his first collegiate title, sitting inside the top-15.
The Demon Deacons are fielding two individual golfers for the two-day Qubein Cup, Hao and junior Boyd Owens.
After shooting a 6-over 76 in round one, Hao bounced back in round two, carding a one-under 69 and rose 34 spots up the individual leaderboard.
Hao found three birdies on his first nine holes in round two, and had an even back nine to finish tied for 15th. Hao leads the Qubein Cup field in pars, carding a total of 26.
In round two, Owens carded an eagle on the par-5 522-yard 15th hole and goes into the final round in 48th place.
Tee times on No. 1 and No. 10 for the final round on Tuesday, Oct. 15 will begin at 9:00 a.m.

"The course was very difficult today, with incredibly fast and firm greens. Jorge shooting 69 in the afternoon was very good, I think he moved up about 30 spots. It's always good to continue to develop as a player, and conditions like that will only make them better down the line. I appreciate them both playing, and they will have one more round tomorrow to have their best round of the week. Go Deacs!"
