In the first road game of the season, the Wake Forest football team travels to NC State on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 12:00 p.m, airing on The CW.
RALEIGH, N.C. - For the first time this season, the Wake Forest football team takes the field, hitting the road against NC State on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 12:00 p.m., airing on The CW.
This is the second time this season Wake Forest will play on the network.
This historic rivalry has been played continuously since 1910, which is the longest continuous rivalry in the ACC. Additionally, the 115th consecutive meeting is the second-longest in the FBS (Wisconsin-Minnesota have met every year since 1906).
Last season in this matchup, Jasheen Davis was a bright spot for the Demon Deacons on defense as he tallied four tackles, including two for loss. With his first sack in the first quarter, Davis moved into fifth place in the Wake Forest record books with his 20th career sack. Also on defense, Dylan Hazen recorded a team-high 14 tackles while Chelen Garnes registered nine tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery.
In the fourth quarter, Michael Kern found freshman Deuce Alexander for a 19-yard touchdown on his first-career reception. It also marked Kern's first passing touchdown since Sept. 21, 2019 and was Alexander's first career touchdown reception.

Pro Humanitate -- Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts
The impact of Hurricane and Tropical Storm Helene has been catastrophic, with entire communities in western North Carolina and across the Southeast now facing the daunting task of recovery and rebuilding. Wake Forest Athletics will have donation boxes at all home events this week, including tomorrow's soccer match. The generosity of fans will go towards the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund or to the United Way of North Carolina - Helene.
