WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest Athletics will honor 34 football players, 11 members of the Spirit of the Old Gold & Black, 12 Deacs from the Spirit Squads and four student staffers on Saturday before the football game.
"This exceptional group of student-athletes has been a cornerstone of our football program, demonstrating leadership, resilience, and a commitment to excellence that has inspired both their teammates and our entire community," head coach Dave Clawson. "Coaching them over the past four, five, and six years has been a true honor. We deeply appreciate their hard work, dedication, and passion for Wake Forest. We love these guys, and we are proud to celebrate them as Deacs who have represented our University with integrity and determination."
"Senior Day is a celebration of the dedication, resilience, and remarkable contributions of Wake Forest students as members of the football team, Spirit of the Old Gold and Black, spirit squads, and support groups," said Vice President & Director of Athletics John Currie. "Under Coach Clawson's leadership, these 35 football student-athletes have represented our University with class and perseverance, embodying the values that define Demon Deacon excellence. Together with our band, spirit squad members, and student staffers, they have created memorable gameday experiences and fostered a sense of unity across Deacon Nation. We encourage all fans to arrive early for Saturday afternoon's special pregame ceremony and to stay in their seats at halftime for more recognition of these outstanding members of our community."
Several football student-athletes being honored on Saturday have completed or will complete their degrees in December 2024 or May 2025, but have remaining eligibility. Following the season, those individuals will assess the potential of returning for the 2025 season.
