The redshirt senior wide receiver becomes the sixth Demon Deacon to win this prestigious Atlantic Coast Conference award and the third in the Dave Clawson era.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Wake Forest football redshirt senior wide receiver Taylor Morin was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's 2024 Jim Tatum Award recipient as announced by the league office on Monday. Morin is the sixth Demon Deacon to win this prestigious honor.
"Taylor Morin embodies everything we value in a student-athlete, and we are thrilled to celebrate him as the 2024 Jim Tatum Award recipient," head coach Dave Clawson said. "A two-year captain and record-setter with 2,974 career receiving yards and 21 touchdown receptions, Taylor was also an outstanding punt returner. He played a key role in helping our program compete in four bowl games, winning three championships, and was instrumental in our 2021 ACC Atlantic Division title and 11-win season. Off the field, Taylor excelled academically, graduating Summa Cum Laude in Engineering and thriving in our prestigious M.B.A. program. His leadership, consistency, and dedication have left a lasting impact on Wake Forest football. We are grateful to the ACC for recognizing Taylor with this well-deserved honor."
The award is given annually in memory of the late Jim Tatum to the top senior student-athlete among the league's football players. Tatum, a two-time ACC Coach of the Year, coached in the 1950s at both Maryland and North Carolina and believed strongly in the concept of the student-athlete.
Morin, who was named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy this year, appeared in 61 games, tying him for the third most games played in program history. Only Ja'Sir Taylor and Dion Bergan Jr. played in more games as a Demon Deacon.
On Saturday during his final appearance in a Wake Forest uniform, Morin set the program record for career receiving yards, finishing his career with 2,974 yards. He also ranked 15th in ACC history in receiving yards.
