CHARLOTTE, N.C. - For the third time in four years, Wake Forest men's basketball program has broken the record for number of student athletes earning Academic All-ACC honors.
Upperclassmen Andrew Carr, Matthew Marsh, Efton Reid III and Kevin Miller along with sophomore Zach Keller and freshmen Parker Friedrichsen and Marqus Marion have all earned a spot on the list by maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average for the fall semester and cumulatively.
Wake Forest has now had multiple individuals selected to the conference's All-Academic Team in each of the last five seasons, dating back to 2018-19. In the Steve Forbes era specifically, 16 different Demon Deacons have earned Academic All-ACC, including three record-breaking groups of three ('21), four ('22) and now seven ('24). Ten of the 16 student athletes have been transfer students, including Andrew Carr who is a two-time honoree.
"We have broken the program record for the most Academic All-ACC players three of the four years we have been at Wake Forest," said head coach Steve Forbes. "We've had 16 players named Academic All-ACC the past four years. During that time 10 of those honorees were transfers. This is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our student-athletes, the faculty, and Jane Caldwell, who has dedicated her professional career to ensuring our players succeed in the classroom and in life."
Wake Forest joins Duke (8), Florida State (7) and Virginia Tech (7) as the only schools with seven or more honorees.
