
Deacs Defeat No. 23 North Carolina and Radford to Conclude 2024 Regular Season

The Demon Deacons clinched the No. 2 seed in next week’s ACC Tournament.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In front of a season-high and record-setting crowd, the No. 7-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team earned a pair of victories over No. 23 North Carolina and Radford Sunday evening at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
The Demon Deacons were led by freshman Luca Pow as the Solihull, England native went unbeaten on the day in singles and doubles action. This season, Pow has accumulated a 22-2 record in dual singles play and currently owns a 16-match winning streak.
No. 116 Luciano Tacchi continued his stellar campaign, knocking off No. 78 Karl Poling of North Carolina in straight sets.
With Sunday's results, the Demon Deacons ended the 2024 regular season with a 26-5 overall record, including a 10-2 mark in ACC play. Additionally, the Deacs secured the No. 2 seed in next week's ACC Tournament and will face the winner of No. 7 Georgia Tech/No. 10 Louisville on Friday, April 19 at 12:30 p.m.

- The Demon Deacons came out strong in doubles play, taking the lead on all three courts.
- No. 1 DK Suresh Ekambaram/Holden Koons knocked off No. 32 Benjamin Kittay/Phillip Jordan, 6-2, to bring the Deacs within one match of clinching the doubles point.
- Luciano Tacchi/Luca Pow then gave the Demon Deacons a 1-0 lead, earning a 6-4 victory in third doubles.
- Tacchi and Pow are currently on an eight-match winning streak.
- Wake Forest's momentum carried over into singles, as it won the first set on five courts.
