CARLSBAD, Calif.- The No. 29 Wake Forest men's golf team wrapped up the second round of stroke play at the 2024 Men's Golf NCAA Championship at the Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, Calif. on Saturday.

After two rounds of stroke play, the Demon Deacons sit in eighteenth with a score of 602 (+26). Wake Forest still is ahead of five top-25 nationally ranked teams including No. 11 Texas Tech, No. 13 Oklahoma, No. 21 Texas A&M, No. 23 New Mexico and No. 24 Oklahoma State.

Additionally, Wake Forest goes into the third round just four strokes off the top-15 cutline and 14 strokes outside of the match play cutline.

On Saturday, junior Scotty Kennon climbed 71 spots up the individual leaderboard and carded the lowest round of the day for the Deacs. Kennon shot one-under on the day and was the lone Demon Deacon to finish the round under-par.

Senior Michael Brennan is still the top Demon Deacon on the individual leaderboard, sitting tied for 40th at 5-over-par as he turned in his second counting round of the week. Freshman Tom Haberer and junior Collin Adams also had counting rounds for the second time in as many rounds.

For the third round of the 2024 Men's Golf NCAA Championship, the Demon Deacons will tee off Sunday with No. 20 California and No. 30 Notre Dame, with the first tee time set for 3:00 p.m ET. off hole No. 1. The teams currently sit 16th, 17th and 18th on the leaderboard and just off the top-15 cutline.

Round Three Tee Times

From Coach Haas:

"We need to get better in tough situations and have  to hang in there. We are only four off the cutline for top 15 and we'll have to have a special day in the afternoon tomorrow. Go Deacs!"
