This will be the third meeting in program history between the two sides.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Another opponent within the upcoming 2024-25 season for Wake Forest men's basketball has been unveiled, as the Demon Deacons will visit Texas A&M in the second edition of the SEC/ACC Challenge, announced by the conference office on Wednesday evening (June 12).
The Deacs and Aggies will face each other on Tuesday, Dec. 3 inside of Reed Arena. A tipoff time for the contest and broadcast information will all be announced at a later date.
Wake Forest and Texas A&M are set to match up for the third time in program history, having last met in College Station for the 2022 National Invitation Tournament (NIT). The Deacons hosted the first-ever meeting on Dec. 11, 1957 – winning in a comfortable 68-46 decision.
During a home showing for the inaugural SEC/ACC Challenge on Nov. 29, 2023, Wake Forest hosted the Florida Gators in a fast-paced, back-and-forth matchup that resulted in the Deacons capturing an 82-71 victory. After trailing at the halftime break, the Deacons outscored the Gators 50-35 during the second 20 minutes and ultimately forced 15 turnovers by the visitors. Hunter Sallis led the way with 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor, in addition to four assists and four rebounds. Cameron Hildreth contributed 18 points, six rebounds and four assists while going 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Back in November 2022, the ACC, SEC and ESPN announced the formation of the SEC/ACC Challenge for men's and women's basketball. The introduction of the SEC/ACC Challenge marked the end of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge after 23 years and the end of the SEC/Big Ten Challenge that began in 2013.

This past season, Texas A&M went 21-15 overall and 9-9 against SEC competition. A trip to the NCAA tournament's Round of 32 headlined the team's postseason, including an appearance in the semifinals of the 2024 SEC Tournament.
Head coach Buzz Williams is entering his sixth season at the helm and has pieced a 97-62 record during his tenure leading the Aggies.

The Deacs finished with an overall record of 21-14 in 2023-24, including an 11-9 mark in conference play.
