Jonah Mednard Earns Call-Up to Haiti’s U-20 National Team Roster for CONCACAF Championships

Menard is one of 60 players on the short-list to represent Haiti at the 2024 CONCACAF Men’s Under-20 Championships played in Mexico.
HAITI – Wake Forest men's soccer redshirt freshman Jonah Mednard has been named to the latest Under-20 Haitian National Team roster for the CONCACAF Under-20 Championships, the Haitian Football Federation recently announced.
The redshirt freshman goalkeeper, who has earned his second call-up to the Haitian U-20 National Team, is one of 60 selections to the initial training camp roster that will report to training later this month before an eventual 21-man roster will be selected for the tournament.
The CONCACAF Under-20 Championships will be played in Celaya and Irapuato, Mexico from July 19-August 4 and will feature the top 12 Under-20 National Teams in North America, Central America and the Caribbean. The four semifinalist teams will also earn a spot to the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile next summer.
Mednard was previously called up to represent Haiti in February, helping the Haitian U-20 squad qualify for the CONCACAF Championships. Mednard started and played all 90 minutes against the Cayman Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Puerto Rico, allowing only two goals during the qualification round.
Mednard is now the fourth current or former Demon Deacon to be called up to a national team this summer. Graduate Sidney Paris represented Puerto Rico in World Cup qualifiers earlier this month, while alums Alistair Johnston and Mark McKenzie will be playing in the Copa America this summer for Canada and the United States respectively.
Mednard and Haiti will start group play against host Mexico on July 21. They will then take on Panama on July 24 before ending the group stage against Guatemala on July 27.
