Demon Deacons Announce Final 2024-25 Roster Addition, DJ Francey

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C- The Wake Forest men's golf team announced the signing of graduate transfer DJ Francey from Columbia University. The Weston, Florida native is the final addition to the 2024-25 roster.
The two-time GCAA All-America Scholar claimed two individual titles during his 2023-24 campaign. Last fall, Francey took home the individual title at Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate. Francey (-8) won the tournament by one stroke over LIU's Lewis Wright. The 18-hole co-leader, Francey put together his second straight round of 4-under-par 67 to win his first collegiate tournament.
Francey earned co-medalist honors with a tournament total of 7-under par 137 at the Roar-EE Invitational, hosted by Columbia University. Francey posted four birdies and three bogeys for an opening-round 71 and followed a stellar 6-under 66. His second round included seven birdies, including a birdie-birdie-birdie finish to catch Yale's Ben Carpenter for co-medalist. This marks Francey's second individual win of the season.
Francey earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors at the 2024 Ivy League Men's Golf Championship. The All-Ivy honors are the second of Francey's respective career – as he was named a First Team member as a sophomore in 2022. Francey tied for 10th place at 3-over (72-74-70—216).
During his 2022-23 season, Francey ranked second on the team with a 72.52 stroke average. He posted three top-10 and six top-25 finishes in nine tournaments. He matched his collegiate-low round with a 2-under 68 in the final round of The Doc Gimmler to shoot 1-over for the tournament. Francey earned back-to-back top 10s to close out the fall season at the Columbia Autumn Invitational and Georgetown Intercollegiate.
Additionally, throughout his sophomore season at Columbia, Francey posted two top-five, four top-10 and eight top-25 finishes in 11 tournaments along with having a scoring average of 73.14. He was impressive in his first Ivy League Championship, tying for second at 7-over-par 220 to earn First Team All-Ivy League honors.

Being a fifth-year senior, he'll be one of our older players, whose experiences throughout his collegiate career at Columbia will add to a very deep team.
