PARIS – Dinos Mitoglou, a 2017 Wake Forest men's basketball alum, is set to represent his home country of Greece at the 2024 Olympic Games, held in Paris, France.

A native of Thessaloniki, Greece, Mitoglou enjoyed a standout, three-year career at Wake Forest from 2014-17. He started 75 games during his Deacon tenure and averaged 9.3 points per game while netting 123 total three-pointers.
As a junior in 2016-17, Mitoglou started in all but one of the Deacs' 33 games. He finished with averages of 8.9 points and 6.1 rebounds for the year, finishing second on the roster for the latter. A new career high happened for the 6'10" forward on Dec. 22, 2016 when he went off for 28 points on 8-for-11 three-point shooting versus LSU. His eight makes from beyond the arc tied for third best in program history.
Mitoglou had a stellar sophomore year in 2015-16, posting 9.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per night. He ranked third on the squad with 42 triples and registered double-figures in scoring on 13 separate occasions. Three double-doubles also happened during his second year on campus.
Mitoglou's freshman campaign saw him lead the team in three-pointers made (52) while averaging 9.7 points and 4.6 rebounds. He was named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Rookie of the Week on Feb. 16, 2015 after posting 21 points and eight rebounds versus Miami (Feb. 11) before dropping 18 points at Virginia (Feb. 14) on 6-of-12 shooting from distance.
Mitoglou helped Greece reach the semifinals of the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championships and also played for his home country during the 2013 and 2014 U18 European Championships. He was named MVP of the 2014 Cisternino Tournament after leading the Greek U18 squad to the championship with wins over Italy, Great Britain and Israel. Prior to his college days, Mitoglou competed for the Greek club Aris BC. He made the decision to turn to professional hoops after his junior year at Wake Forest.
