Deacs Reach 100 Points in International Tour Win over Split Select

The sophomore class combined to score 58 of the 100 points scored as Rylie Theuerkauf finished with a team-high 20 points while Makaela Quimby and Madisyn Jordan each poured in 19 points in the 30-point victory.
SPLIT, Croatia – The Wake Forest women's basketball team started the international tour with a 100-70 victory over Split Select Saturday night in Split, Croatia.
The rising sophomore class combined to score 58 of the 100 points scored as guard Rylie Theuerkauf finished with a team-high 20 points while guard Makaela Quimby and forward Madisyn Jordan each poured in 19 points in the 30-point victory.
Theuerkauf finished 8-of-15 from the floor while also going a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Jordan helped clinch the 100-point effort in the fourth as 10 of her 19 came in the final 10 minutes including hitting the last basket of the game with five seconds remaining.
Quimby ended the night with a team-high five threes, going 5-of-9 from behind the arc. Coming out of the break, Quimby was on fire from three as she went 4-of-5 in the third quarter alone.
Freshman guard Aurora Sørbye made her presence felt immediately, ending the night with a team-high 10 assists to go along with five points and three rebounds. The fellow addition at point guard, Tamia Jones, also had a strong first game for the Deacs, posting eight points and five assists.
Wake Forest had a stellar game from the field, hitting 40-of-81 (49.4 percent) shots. The Demon Deacons tallied 25 assists including 17 in the second half.
The Deacs also had strong contributions from the rising senior class as forward Alyssa Andrews and guard Raegyn Conley both finished with 10 points apiece. In her first game back since 2022-23, forward Demeara Hinds had four points while also collecting a team-best seven rebounds.
Wake Forest also clamped down on defense in the second half, allowing just 27 total points in the last 20 minutes of the game to pull away for the win.
The Deacs are back on the floor Tuesday in Dubrovnik, facing off with Dubrovnik Select with tipoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time.
