Deacs Claim 87-43 Win Against Dubrovnik Select

The Deacs had a balanced attack with four players in double figures while another two had nine points in the 40-point victory.

DUBROVNIK, Croatia – The Wake Forest women's basketball team claimed its second victory on the international tour, defeating Dubrovnik Select, 87-43, Tuesday night in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The Demon Deacons had a balanced attack with four players in double figures while another two had nine points in the 40-point victory. The well-rounded offense had 25 assists on 37 made baskets including 18 combined from the point guard position. The Deacs shot 50 percent from the field on 37 of 74 field goals.

Incoming freshman guard Aurora Sørbye finished the night with a team-high 11 assists while also pulling down five rebounds. Sørbye also went a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and 1-of-1 from the free throw line, ending the night with seven points. Senior transfer guard Tamia Jones also had an impressive night with seven assists and six rebounds to go along with four points.

Rising sophomore guard Rylie Theuerkauf led the team in scoring for the second game on the trip, tallying 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting while adding a pair of assists.

Guard Raegyn Conley also had a strong night finishing with 15 points on 6-of-13 from the field including 3-of-4 field goals inside of the arc. Conley also added five rebounds and notched an assist.

Freshman forward Kennedy Moore ended the night with team-high 10 rebounds and had six points on 3-of-7 shooting.

Finally, senior forward Demeara Hinds posted 11 points (5-of-9 FG) and six rebounds while senior forward Alyssa Andrews had an impressive night with 10 points (5-of-7 FG) while grabbing seven rebounds.

The Deacs are back on the floor Friday in Athens, Greece, facing off with the Swiss National Team with tipoff scheduled for 11:00 a.m. local time.
