WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In the continued effort to provide the Value to Wake Forest, Winston-Salem and Triad Communities, Demon Deacon Athletics is proud to collaborate with WSJS for a takeover of Josh Graham's afternoon drive radio show on Wednesday, Aug. 29.
This year's show features a variety of notable Deacons, beginning with three-time NCAA Champion head field hockey coach Jen Averill at the start of the show right at 3 p.m.. Additional guests will be women's basketball senior Alyssa Andrews, Vice President & AD John Currie and redshirt junior linebacker Dylan Hazen.
How to Listen
Fans can click here to listen online or tune their dial on the radio to AM600/93.7/101.5/103.1/104.9 FM from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday. Voice of the Demon Deacons Stan Cotten and longtime color commentator Lary Sorensen will be co-hosting the show.

With multiple sellouts expected this fall, Wake Forest Athletics encouraged fans to get their tickets for the 2024 football season while supplies last! Fewer than 600 tickets remain for Opening Night at Allegacy Stadium on Aug. 29 and less than 2,000 unsold seats left for Ole Miss on Sept. 14, Louisiana on Sept. 28 and Clemson on Oct. 12.
Additionally, Wake Forest's first home matches of the 2024-25 academic year take place on Thursday inside Spry Stadium as the Deacs host a women's & men's soccer doubleheader at 6 p.m..
Who's Joining Wake Forest's Takeover on WSJS
Eight-time ACC coach of the year Jen Averill begins her 33rd season with the field hockey program this upcoming fall. During her time as head coach, the program has been selected to the national tournament 18 times, as well as three consecutive NCAA Championship titles in the early 2000s. Averill and her team will look to start the season off strong in their first match of the season on the road against the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.
Hailing from northern Virginia, guard Alyssa Andrews enters her senior year with the Deacons women's basketball team for the upcoming 2025 season. During her junior year, she was one of six players to play in all 32 games and ranked third on the team in rebounds per game.
Rounding out the takeover hour is redshirt junior from College Park, Texas, Dylan Hazen. The Deacons linebacker ranked 10th in the ACC for total tackles during the 2023 season, recording five or more tackles in 10 games.
John Currie is entering his fifth year at the helm of the Deacons athletic program, and 14th year as a power five athletic director. Having served as athletic directors for both Kansas State and Tennessee, John boasts over 30 years of combined experience in the ACC, Big 12, and SEC.
