A 2023 and 2024 Wake Forest graduate, Rachel Kuehn created a lasting impact on Wake Forest and women’s golf during her time as a Demon Deacon. Now, she returns to Wake as an alumna, and the Week 5 Open the Gate Honoree.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – After a record-breaking career in her time as a Demon Deacon, former women's golfer Rachel Kuehn returns to Wake Forest as the Week 5 Open the Gate Honoree, prior to kickoff against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Saturday, Sept. 28 inside Allegacy Stadium.

The daughter of All-American golfer and fellow Deacon Brenda Kuehn, Rachel Kuehn cemented her own legacy in Wake Forest history. The Asheville native holds the Wake Forest record for the lowest four-year scoring average with a 71.19, helping her earn a selection to the Arnold Palmer Cup five times.

Kuehn is the first Wake Forest women's golfer since 2011 to be named the Scholar Athlete of the Year and the first player in program history to be both Player and Scholar Athlete of the Year. The five-time Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American helped earn the program two ACC titles, in 2022 and 2024 respectively, as well as the program's first NCAA Championship in 2023.

In her final year as a Deac, Kuehn helped lead the team to their eighth ACC title in program history, while also earning her seventh and eighth individual career titles at the ACC Championship and NCAA Regionals.

She continues to dominate the women's golf world, recently competing for the USA with fellow former Deacon Mimi Rhodes at the 2024 Curtis Cup, marking the third consecutive Curtis Cup to feature at least two Deacons competing. This upcoming fall, Kuehn will continue her pro career, beginning the second stage of qualifying for the LPGA in October.
