Pro Deacs: Divisional Round

Pro Deacs battle for a chance to advance to respective conference championship games.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Pro Deacs made its return during the divisional round of the 2024 NFL playoffs, highlighted by Kobie Turner and the Los Angeles Rams fighting for a spot in the NFC Championship game, along with one former Demon Deacon advancing to the NFC title game in upset fashion.
Kobie Turner Ends Spectacular Sophomore Season in Divisional Round
Defensive lineman Kobie Turner ended his spectacular sophomore season in the divisional round, as he and the Los Angeles Rams came up just short against the Philadelphia Eagles 28-22 in a snowy battle on Sunday. Against the Eagles, Turner made six tackles with five solo efforts and two tackles for loss, including a critical sack late in the fourth quarter to get the Rams the ball back for a chance to complete the comeback and win.
With the loss, Turner concluded another spectacular season with the Rams as he became a pivotal factor for the Rams' young defensive line. During the regular season, Turner ranked second on the team with eight sacks while also setting career-highs in total tackles with 62, as well as solo tackles, recording 35 solo efforts during the year. Turner also recorded four pass deflections and forced and recovered a fumble.
Turner continued to carry the momentum he built up during the regular season into the playoffs, recording 10 tackles with seven solo efforts and three sacks over his two playoff games. In total, the Rams recorded 16 sacks during their playoff run, including a playoff record nine sacks in their victory over the 14-win Minnesota Vikings in their wildcard matchup, two of which were credited to Turner.
Sam Hartman and Washington Commanders Advance to NFC Championship Game
Quarterback Sam Hartman, who has spent most of the 2024 season on the practice squad for the Washington Commanders, advanced to the NFC Championship game, as he and the sixth-seeded Commanders pulled off the 45-31 upset against the first-overall seeded Detroit Lions on Saturday.
With the victory over the Lions, the Commanders will compete in the NFC Championship for the first time since the 1991 season. The Commanders will now compete for their first Super Bowl appearance since 1991 as they take on their NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Sunday afternoon.
