Malik Mustapha and Justin Strnad shine in marquee matchups to highlight Pro Deacs.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Pro Deacs made its triumphant return once again during Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season, highlighted by stellar performances by both Malik Mustapha and Justin Strnad in marquee matchups, Greg Dortch finding the end zone in his best game of the season and many other great performances by former Demon Deacons.
Strnad Leads the Way in Key AFC West Tilt
Linebacker Justin Strnad continued his solid start to the 2025 season on Sunday afternoon as he and the Denver Broncos secured a walk-off victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at home, 22-19. In the win, which helped Denver claim a firm hold over the AFC West and keep pace in the race for the No. 1 overall seed in the conference, Strnad recorded a team-high 10 tackles with four solo efforts. For his efforts, Strnad earned a 74.0 defensive grade by PFF.
After having an incredible season last year, Strnad has continued to build himself into a major part of one of the best defensive teams in the NFL. Overall, Strnad has totaled 48 tackles with 18 solo efforts, as well as a career-high 3.5 sacks. He also tallied his first career interception against the New York Giants earlier in the season.
Mustapha Shines in NFC West Battle
Safety Malik Mustapha shined once again for the San Francisco 49ers during their NFC West matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, helping them earn a 41-22 victory. Mustapha's performance was highlighted by his first interception of the season, which came at the end of the first half and later resulted in a field goal that gave San Francisco a 25-10 lead at the half. The pick marked just the second of Mustapha's career, as the second-year pro finished the day with four tackles and a pass defense against Arizona.
Overall, despite missing the opening five weeks of the season, Mustapha has picked up right where he left off from his incredible campaign. Mustapha has totaled 36 tackles with 18 solo efforts to go along with his one interception.
Light the Dortch
On the other side of the game between Arizona and San Francisco, wide receiver Greg Dortch had another solid performance as he found the end zone for a second-consecutive game. After adding a rushing score last week against Seattle, Dortch added a 17-yard receiving touchdown from Jacoby Brissett in the fourth quarter to make it 41-22. Overall, Dortch totaled a season-high six catches for 66 yards while also adding 79 punt return yards on Sunday.
Walker and Turner Square Off for NFC West Lead
Week 11 of the NFL season featured another matchup between former Demon Deacons, as Kobie Turner and the Los Angeles Rams defeated Kenneth Walker III and the Seattle Seahawks in a battle for the lead in the NFC West. Despite the loss, Walker III had another great game for the Seahawks, finishing the game with 67 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Walker also added three catches for 44 yards to total 111 all-purpose yards. Meanwhile, Turner ended the game with one tackle to help the Rams shut down Seattle's offense and earn a 21-19 win to take control of the division and keep pace with the Philadelphia Eagles for the first overall seed in the NFC.
Bates Stars for Falcons
Despite falling in overtime for the second-consecutive game, safety Jessie Bates III starred once again for the Atlanta Falcons in their NFC South clash against the Carolina Panthers. Bates recorded eight tackles with six solo efforts, ranking second on the team for the game. With his performance, Bates has continued to solidify himself as one of the best tackling safeties in the NFL, having recorded 64 tackles with 32 solo efforts while his 85.8 tackling grade by PFF ranks ninth among all eligible safeties in the league this season.
