What They're Saying
- Warren Belin ('90):
- "I am deeply grateful and humbled to be selected as the 2025 recipient of the Pete Moffitt Courage Award. My sincere thanks go to the Moffitt family and Wake Forest Athletics for this special honor. At first, I hesitated to accept the nomination, as I never wanted this recognition to be about me. But as I reflect on Pete and the many courageous individuals who have received this award before me, I realized I, too, could use this opportunity to help raise awareness about the importance of early cancer screening and, hopefully, be an encouragement to others who face their own daily battles.Over the past 33 years as a football coach, I have been blessed by the Lord with the chance to build meaningful relationships with players, their families, colleagues, and the communities where we have lived. Through all of life's challenges, my ultimate goal has remained the same: to let God's light shine through me, to reflect His love, and to approach both football and life's daily struggles with a positive mindset and a greater purpose—to be a true Champion in Life."
- Head Coach Jake Dickert:
- "Warren Belin's courage in his fight against Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer is an incredible example for our football program and the entire Wake Forest community. His toughness as a player and coach continues to shine through today, and our team is proud to recognize him as part of the Demon Deacon family."
- Vice President & Director of Athletics John Currie:
- "Warren Belin's strength in the face of Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer cancer is nothing short of remarkable. Just as he inspired teammates and players with his toughness and leadership, he now inspires the entire Wake Forest family with his courage and grace. Warren embodies the spirit of Pete Moffitt and reminds us all of the power of resilience."
