The junior guard put together a memorable night against Queens, scoring a personal best 33 points while matching his career-high with eight rebounds.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Following a career night leading Wake Forest to a 38-point victory over Queens junior guard Myles Colvin has been named ACC Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. 

In the 111-73 victory over the Royals, Colvin scored 33 points on 11-of-13 shooting while going 7-of-8 from three along with eight rebounds. Twenty-six of his 33 points came in the first half, as he became the first Demon Deacon to score 26 points in a single half since Wake Forest Sports Hall of Famer Randolph Childress scored 27 against Duke in the 1995 ACC Tournament. 

Entering the game, the Indianapolis native's career-high for points in a game was 20.

Colvin started the game with 11-straight makes, as he is just the third player this season – and first against a Division I opponent – to make his first 11 shots in a contest.

At 11-of-13 from the field, Colvin became just the sixth Demon Deacon since 1996 to record a field goal percentage of 84 percent or higher on 13 or more attempts, joining ACC Players of the Year Tim Duncan and Tyree Appleby along with Darius Songaila (twice), Hunter Sallis and John Collins. 

Additionally, the junior guard went 7-of-8 from three-point territory, matching Jonah Antonio (Feb. 13, 2021 vs. Florida State) for the best three-point shooting percentage (87.5 percent) in a single game in program history on eight attempts.

His 33 points were also tied for the fourth-most by a Wake Forest player in the Steve Forbes era, as the victory over Queens marked his 100th at the helm of the program.

Along with his 33 points, Colvin contributed eight rebounds as he became just the 13th player this season to record a 33-and-8 statline and just the second ACC player to do so alongside Cameron Boozer.

He's also just the third Demon Deacon to record at least 33 points and eight rebounds in a single game since the 1996-97 season, joining Duncan and ACC Player of the Year Alondes Williams.

With Colvin's selection, the Demon Deacons have now had nine ACC Players of the Week under Forbes. 

The Deacs return to action Wednesday night, hosting Longwood for a 7 p.m. start before closing out non-conference action on Sunday hosting No. 13 Vanderbilt for a 1 p.m. start.
