Hansen Places Second at USATF Cross Country Championships

The Wake Forest junior finished the 10K championship race in 29:24.8 to help him earn a spot to represent the United States at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships on Jan. 10 in Tallahassee, Fla.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Wake Forest junior Rocky Hansen continued his stellar cross country season on Saturday afternoon as he secured a runner-up finish at the USATF Cross Country Championships.

The Hendersonville, N.C., native, who is coming off a runner-up finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, posted a time of 29:24.8 on the 10K course at the Glendoveer Golf Course. 

With the second-place finish, Hansen earned his spot to represent the United States at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships on Jan. 10 in Tallahassee, Fla.

The result at the USATF Cross Country Championships adds to Hansen's extraordinary 2025 season, which includes being one of just two Demon Deacons to earn All-American, All-Region, and All-ACC honors this season. Hansen also secured three individual titles, including both the ACC Individual Championship and the NCAA Southeast Regional Individual Championship.
