  • Women's History Month: 
  • Women's Tennis: 
    • Junior Nevena Carton was named ACC Player of the Week last Tuesday, becoming the first Demon Deacon to earn an ACC weekly honor this season. 
      • Carton won the honor following an impressive weekend against both Virginia and Virginia Tech, having picked up two top-30 victories against No. 22 Sara Ziodato of Virginia and No. 26 Ozlem Uslu of Virginia Tech. The Locust, N.J., native also picked up a ranked win in doubles alongside freshman Kady Tannenbaum against the Hokies.
    • The Demon Deacons return to action this weekend against two top-10 Big Four opponents as they face off against No. 4 North Carolina and No. 7 Duke on the road.
  • Women's Soccer: 
    • Last week, forward Caiya Hanks signed with the NWSL side Portland Thorns to a four-year contract with a club option for 2029.
      • The 20-year old arrived in Portland after a historic 2024 campaign at Wake Forest, leading the Demon Deacons in goals (11), assists (12) and points (34) on their path to the 2024 NCAA DI Women's Soccer National Championship, the program's first ever appearance in a NCAA final. 
      • Following the conclusion of her standout 2024 season, Hanks was recognized as one of the country's top female college soccer athletes and earned a finalist nomination for the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy.
    • Following Hanks' contract with Portland, there are now seven Wake Forest women's soccer alumni currently playing in the NWSL.
      • Additionally, the Hawiian is the second member of the 2024 College Cup team to join an NWSL club, joining defender Zara Chavoshi (Orlando Pride).
  • Track & Field: 
    • The Wake Forest track & field team recently wrapped up a successful indoor season, which was highlighted by graduate student Robbie Grace setting a new program record (6.37m) and earning First Team All-ACC honors in the long jump.
      • Sophomore Brooke Wilson also tabbed Second Team All-ACC honors in the 5000m.
    • In the DMR, the women's squad set a new program indoor record with a season-best time of 11:06.9.
      •  Charlotte Augenstein (3:21.97), Aria Wegh (55.91), Emma Douglass (2:08.31), and Molly Dreher (4:40.77) raced in the relay to break the program's previous mark.
    • The squad will now look ahead to the first weekend of outdoor action as it competes in the Webb Davidson Invitational in High Point, N.C. on Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22.
