Deacons in Solid Position After Round One at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

Two Deacs sit inside the top ten.
HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Through the first round of play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C., the No. 9 ranked Wake Forest women's golf team sits T4 and just three strokes off the lead.
As a team, the Deacs shot seven-over par and are ahead of ACC foe Duke and two top-10 teams.
After a double-bogey on hole five, senior Carolina Chacarra tallied two birdies throughout her round to aid her recovery to an even-par finish. She sits T7 after round one in the field of 90 after a bogey-free back nine.
Sophomore Macy Pate logged back-to-back birdies before the turn to finish the day with an even score and goes into round two T7 with her teammate.
Freshman Chloe Kovelesky holds a share of 23rd place after an even front nine and carded a birdie on 154-yard par three. The Florida native completed her first round two over par with a score of 73.
Junior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen wrapped up the day T51 at five over par while graduate Sky Sload concluded T61 at six over par.
Round Two in Sight
The second round of three will begin at 10:20 a.m. ET. Wake Forest will be paired with No. 2 Arkansas and Ohio State. Live scoring will be available all day via Scoreboard.
